The Kanha National Park, situated in the eastern sector of the central Indian Highlands, ranges over an area of 940 sq km in the
Mailkal chain of hills. Kanha Tiger reserve consists of the National Park which forms the Core Zone and a Buffer zone around
the core bringing the total area up to 1945 sq. km. Beside the Tigers for which kanha is justly famous, the abundance
of wildlife here is remarkable – the magnificient Gaur; The hardground Barasinga, the herd of Chital, and the ever present
Langur. In all, some 22 species of large mammals are regularly found within the Park – and the birdlife is equally impressive.

SIGHTS
Deep into the jungle one starts hearing the real sounds of silence! Twigs breaking under unseen footsteps, rustle of the
leaves disturbed by a breeze, intermittent chirps of crickets and small birds, distant howls. Birding walks, nature trails and
cycling are conducted on request by our lodge naturalists in the forests adjoining the lodge. Guests can visit several
small lakes, the Banjaar River and Gond tribal homes during these excursions

The Kanha National Park is home also to a mind-boggling variety of flora and fauna. Windsor Tiger Resort has arrangements
with experienced naturalists who know the area inside out. Have them on your team and you'll go back an expert in botany
at least.

JEEP SAFARIS
Our customized open-top 4X4s are ideal for exploring the deep innards of Kanha national park. Each SUV is manned by
a certified naturalist (guides) to familiarise adventurers with the rules of the jungle. The written down codes of conduct
are just a small part of the much heightened sense of responsibility we need to adhere to, in the wild. The guides
carry with them meticulous records of the flora and fauna, sighting spots, trails etc. Even on your trip, every important
bit of data will be added to the archive, to make each subsequent outing a better experience.

ELEPHANT SAFARIS
Without an elephant ride, no Indian safari is “complete”. The top perch provides a very wide view of the jungle around
you, multiplying the possibilities of sighting its inhabitants well before they sight you. Feel like a Maharaja
(King) on a game hunt while your giant mastodon gently strolls up close to a tiger.

You will need to pre-book this afternoon activity, as only a handful of mahuots (elephant driver) are skilled enough
to be permitted into the park.

As sightings are almost assured on every elephant safari, every participant returns home with an inimitable experience.

A haven for Locavores, Windsor Tiger Resort uses the freshest local ingredients to rustle up favourite items from
across the world. Our Indian spread is amazing and will add to the overall magical experience.

A team of highly professional and friendly staff await your arrival to delight you with our hospitality. Prepare to be
pampered with luxury, for at Windsor Tiger Resort, we ensure you have an enjoyable stay with memories to cherish
always. Welcome to Kanha. You deserve a treat !
